As a child, Shirley starred in more than forty major motion pictures and fifty major television productions. She received an Oscar Award in 1935. Although many child actors and actresses have difficulty moving from the entertainment industry into business or other careers, Shirley Temple Black is a remarkable exception. She has been able to blend her quick wit and style with warmth and grace to become one of our nation’s most respected diplomats. In 1969, Mrs. Black became a U.S. Delegate to the United Nations. In the years that followed, she served as a U.S. Delegate to many International Conferences and Summits on cooperative treaties and human environment. In 1976, she became the first female Chief of Protocol of the United States. From this position she moved on to the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana from 1974-1976, then U.S. Chief Protocol, then an officer for the U.S. Foreign Affairs Department, and later in 1989 to U.S. Ambassador to Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. As the first female U.S. Chief Protocol of the United States, she was incharge of implementation of all State Department visits, ceremonies, gifts for foreign heads of state, and liaison to all foreign embassies and consulates located in the U.S.A. Protocol is the diplomatic procedure governed by law or international custom and practice. The Department of State first established a Division of Protocol in 1928. All incumbents since 1961 have held the rank of Ambassador.

This is a really nice all composition Shirley Temple doll made by Ideal, size 17 inches, has her original mohair wig, brown glassine hazel sleep eyes, open mouth with four upper teeth and a felt tongue, original facial paint is all in tact with great color, wears a new cotton dress, new socks and new shoes, marked on the back of her head with SHIRLEY TEMPLE / 7 / C. IDEAL, marked on the back of her torso with: SHIRLEY TEMPLE / 17 1/2.

This is a adorable Shirley Temple Composition Doll, having been professionally restored to her original beauty, rare size 11 inches,the back of her body is marked “SHIRLEY TEMPLE / 11”, her pretty smile features her 6 tiny teeth and felt tongue, green tin sleep eyes, golden blond mohair wig, is wearing a reproduction blue organdy dress with pink ribbons from the “Poor Little Rich Girl” movie, white rayon Socks and white Shoes, light Blue Ribbon in her hair.

1937 Shirley Temple Doll

Manufactured by the Ideal Novelty & Toy Company, 1937, doll is marked on the head: Shirley Temple,body is marked: SHIRLEY TEMPLE 18- , doll's face & body have been professionally restored to the absolute highest quality, has sable upper lashes, hand-painted multi-stroke eyebrows & lower painted lashes, red dots in nostrils, red painted lips, open mouth with teeth and felt tongue, air brushed red cheeks, blonde mohair wig with lovely curls above her forehead, and braided pigtails tied up into loops with red ribbon bows, wig has a center-stitched seam part, sleep eyes, hazel-colored lenses have been replaced, 18 inches tall, last sold at auction for $950.00.

This fabulous c1938 18 inch composition doll, hazel eyes, has 6 teeth and a felt tongue, marked Shirley Temple COP Ideal on her neck, her original mohair wig full of curls, red ribbon, she is wearing original outfit from the 1936 movie "Poor Little Rich Girl". made of the same navy blue cotton twill as the "Captain January" sailor suit. It has pleats, red buttons on the front, original red satin neck tie, matching tam, front snap oilcloth shoes still have the bows and silver buckles. complete with an authentic pin.

A wonderful 27 inch all composition Shirley Temple Doll, is marked “SHIRLEY TEMPLE ” on the head and on the body, has multi-stroke brows, lid lines, and painted lower lashes, flirty brown eyes that move from side to side under brown sable eyelashes, golden blonde wig, with blue ribbon. wearing a lovely white party dress from the movie “Baby Take A Bow”, matching panties, white rayon socks and new white shoes.
